The Tactics 1% For The Planet Team was conceived of in 2007 and launched in 2008. Our 1FTP team riders are different from our local team riders in that they are established, well-known pros. Tactics 1FTP team riders back Tactics and we back them; just as importantly, they are philosophically aligned with our company and want to support and promote our 1% For The Planet environmental grants program. In turn, we want to highlight these riders not only as professional athletes, but as thoughtful spokespersons for environmental responsibility. Just as Tactics walks the walk by giving away 1% of our sales to environmental groups, our 1FTP riders are committed to being advocates for living green.

The founding members of our 1FTP team are J.J. Thomas and Forrest Shearer . Winter X Games Gold medalist and Olympic bronze medalist, J.J. Thomas has been a professional snowboarder for over 8 years. He currently spends most of his time filming, but still competes in a handful of selected premiere events every year. When he isn’t snowboarding, J.J. is often found enjoying one of his other passions: surfing. Forrest Shearer is also sponsored by earth friendly Sambazon and one of his most recent projects is filming “My Own Two Feet,” a documentary/backcountry video enabled soley by human powered trekking.
