Skate Diary, Churchill Skatepark
By Benson | July 9, 2009
“Shooting photos in a skatepark is like shooting ‘wildlife’ in a zoo.” -some random comment on a skateboard photography website.
This is true, but sometimes skaters don’t want to be hassled for sessioning a ledge outside a business or want to deal with ‘concerned citizens’ in public spaces. It’s easy to skate a park for hours on end, just enjoying the company of your homeys and the hassle-free environment.
Yesterday, I met up with the usual suspects Nick Propios and Justin James for an evening session at the Churchill Skatepark. Justin wanted to shoot a blunt fakie in the deep pool and once he got his trick, Nick decided jumping into the big bowl was a good idea; and when I say ‘good idea,’ I really mean he was peer pressured by all his ‘friends’ to try it. Good crew, good times. Check out the photos below.
