Save the Wild Rogue Campaign

The Save the Wild Rogue campaign has made great progress toward securing stronger protections for the Lower Rogue canyon. In June 2009, Senator Wyden and Representative DeFazio introduced legislation to protect 143 miles of the Lower Rogue’s tributary streams under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (Read former Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber’s and former Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury’s joint editorial in the Oregonian). In order to make those bills become law, there needs to be hearings scheduled in both the Senate and the House.

They need your help. Send a quick auto-email to our Congressional champions thanking them for their work so far, and ask that they secure hearings soon and pass the legislation in 2010. You can also join members of Save the Wild Rogue on March 6 for a hike into the Wild Rogue canyon. Thanks for your support!

The Save the Wild Rogue campaign is a coalition of conservation groups, whitewater rafters, anglers, kayakers, businesses, students, families and individuals working together to preserve the spectacular wildlands of the Lower Rogue River as a legacy for future generations.
