Austin Arrowood stacks the footy

Getting footage can be a struggle. High bust factors, rough spots, terrible lighting, dead batteries and a myriad of other things can squash a session before the urethane hits the pavement. Yesterday was no different. I met Tactics rider and employee Austin Arrowood at the shop because there’s a spot right around the corner I’ve been eyeing for a while now.
The spot is a small loading dock about three feet tall; it’s nothing special, but I always thought the brick building would make a great photo. We scoped it out and realized there’s cracks everywhere, the ground is super rough, and the angle iron needed some wax; the ledge is also a little high, so I suggested building a kicker. We found some pallets and built a make-shift kicker, but it got destroyed on the first try. Note to self: particle board does not make a good skate ramp.
Nick Propios and Justin James were also there, but they seemed over it after the ramp was demolished, so they started skating a ledge nearby. And what does Austin do? He’s on a mission to get something, so he started skating the dock from flat. No kicker needed for ‘Stin. He got three photos in about ten minutes and we bounced to another spot.
Yup, getting footage CAN be a struggle… unless you’ve got pop like Austin, then skating just looks fun.
