SoPaul Nhep dropped off some footage

By Benson | November 3, 2009

Looks like Jake Gascoyne wasn’t the only team rider busting his ass this summer.  The skate team’s been wondering what SoPaul had been up to these past couple months cause we never saw him at any of the team meetings, but it looks like he was out in the streets stacking the footy.  He recently dropped off his footage and it looks like the kid put in some serious time on his board these past couple months.  Great job SoPaul!

Nike Snowboarding 2009 Boot Lineup

By Benson | October 23, 2009

Whether or not you think the Swoosh should be in the snow and skate industry, the simple fact is they’ve been working with feet for over 35 years.  With that kind of experience, you know the heads at Nike Snowboarding have all the tools of the trade to make a solid boot; they also have some of the best riders in the game backing the product.  If it’s good enough for X Games gold medalist and two-time Olympic silver medalist Danny Kass, you’ll probably be just fine.

Last year, Nike Snowboarding unveiled the Zoom Force 1 to major acclaim and awards.  The boot won Snowboard Magazine’s Platinum pick for the 2008-2009 season.  This year, they’ve introduced another boot, the Zoom Kaiju.  No awards here, just another fine snowboarding boot.  There’s some crazy tech things going on inside the boot like ‘flywire’ and ‘free technology’, but all you need to know is this lightweight, midflex boot will keep your feet warm and secure whether whether it’s day one or 100.

Headquartered in Portland and founded in Eugene, Tactics is hyped to be apart of the Nike retail family.  Check out the latest offerings from Nike here at Tactics.

Airblaster Ninja Suit

By Benson | October 16, 2009

Some of the most epic days of riding happen when you wake up, check the report and find out there is 24 inches of fresh on the mountain.  There’s not a cloud in the sky or a hint of wind.  You make your way to the hill, suit up, strap in and get that first chair.

As the chair takes you higher and higher, you start scoping your line, mapping out your descent.  “Aaahh snap!” you think.  “This run will be glorious!”  You get to the top, strap in and head towards your secrect pow run.

You know what I’m talking about.  It’s that one day you dream of.  Face shots within the first 100 yards and you’ve got 2,500 vertical feet to go.  Then it happens: You forgot your rocker board and your nose plunges under two feet of fresh pow.  It’s right about here you think, “I wish my first layer bottoms were connected to my top, cause I’m about to get my breakdancin’ shoes on and spin this 1080 on my head and this powder skirt ain’t gonna cut it.”

Solution?  Karate kick your old top and bottom base layer for a Ninja Suit.  No matter what you do, it is nearly impossible for snow to find its way to your birthday suit, which, come to think of it, is also a one-piece… Anyways, if you’ve ever had an epic day cut short because snow creeped into your outerwear, check out the Ninja Suits by Airblaster.  You won’t regret it.
