What We Do

Green Design

Late in 2004, Tactics was running out of room. We learned of an old 1940s, 30,000 square foot, 3-story warehouse nearby for sale and pulled the trigger. The renovation project took almost 8 months, but by mid-2005, the building had been transformed, combining historic preservation and modern green building principles. Following the primary LEED categories, we examined the impacts of the renovation from a holistic perspective, considering such factors as energy efficiency, stormwater management, water efficient landscaping, water use reduction, resource reuse, alternative transportation, and indoor environmental quality. Environmental Grants

Business Footprint
We believe that businesses should be viewed like individuals. They face choices and they should act responsibly when faced with those choices. They also consume and have their own environmental footprints. We work to consistently take a fresh look at how our business operates and try to make the operational decisions that can best minimize our environmental footprint. Most of the items on our list are fairly straightforward, but the sum of these parts all contribute to minimizing the impact we have on the world around us. Learn More…

Alternative Transportation Incentive
In June 2011 we introduced an incentive that encourages employees to get to work by any non-motorized means.   Each day, employees who ride their bikes, push their skateboards, paddle their canoes,  walk, or skip  receive $2 in-store credit.   If they carpool or take the bus, they get $1 in-store credit.   The result; employees are stoked,  carbon emissions are cut, good actions are rewarded.
